In the Garden
Behind our house in San Juan, there is a small garden that my mother calls her second living room and her personal therapy. It is not a large or fancy garden with perfect grass and expensive decorations.
What it is
Behind our house in San Juan, there is a small garden that my mother calls her second living room and her personal therapy. It is not a large or fancy garden with perfect grass and expensive decorations. It is a humble, colorful, living space full of plants, flowers, herbs, and even a few vegetables, where my family spends some of its happiest and most peaceful hours. For visitors, it is just a backyard. For us, it is a place of work, rest, conversation, and connection with nature. The garden began many years ago with almost nothing: a mango tree that was already there when my parents bought the house, a small plantain tree in the corner, and a few pots with flowers that my grandmother gave my mother as a gift. Little by little, year after year, my mother added more. Let's talk — 10 questions to discuss with your voice tutor: 1. Do you have a garden or plants at home? Can you describe them? 2.
