Add a product by pasting its link

CallPages can import a product from a link. Paste a product URL — a web shop page, a WhatsApp catalog item — and CallPages extracts the product’s image, description, and price into a pre-filled draft the owner confirms with one tap.

Every product on a CallPage was typed in by hand — name, description, price, photo — even when the exact same product already existed, fully described, on the business’s other storefronts. Owners were copy-typing their own catalog from one screen to another.

Your catalog already exists — somewhere

Most small businesses sell in more than one place: a WhatsApp catalog here, a marketplace listing there, a supplier page somewhere else. The products are written up, photographed, and priced — just not in CallPages. Retyping them is the tax every multi-channel business pays. Import by link removes the tax: the description you already wrote becomes the draft you only have to approve.

A draft, never a surprise

Import is deliberately conservative. The machine reads; the owner decides. What arrives is a draft with everything pre-filled and nothing published — one tap confirms it, and editing before confirming is just editing a normal product. And when a link can’t be read, the failure is recorded with its reason, so the system learns which sources work instead of shrugging silently.

The Learning Center version of this article is in preparation and will follow with a verified owner-session walkthrough.

How it works

  1. Paste a product link in the dashboard’s product import; CallPages fetches the page and reads its structured data first (JSON-LD), then its social-card data, then catalog formats like WhatsApp’s product pages.
  2. The result is a pre-filled draft — image, description, price — shown to the owner for a one-tap confirm. Nothing publishes without the owner’s tap.
  3. The importer is guarded: private and internal addresses are refused (SSRF protection), oversized or unparseable pages fail cleanly, and every failure is logged from day one so broken sources are visible, not silent.
