Step-by-step buying guide

Buying a bed at Sleep Shop involves five decisions in order. Make them in this order and you won't have to redo any:

Step 1: Measure your space

Before falling in love with a King, measure:

• The room: length and width. Ideally, leave 24–30 inches of clearance on the sides of the bed for walking.
• Doors, hallways, and stairs: everything arrives new in a box, but the mattress needs to turn. Note the width of your narrowest door.
• The headboard wall: windows, outlets, and the air conditioner decide where the bed can go.

Step 2: Choose the size

• Sleeping alone and the room is small → Twin or Twin XL if you are tall.
• Alone but you like space, or guest room → Full.
• Couple, master bedroom → Queen.
• Couple who values their space, or family bed → King.

Step 3: Choose the height

Think about the total height (base + mattress): low for children and modern profiles, medium for almost everyone, high if you want storage underneath or to get up with ease. Prices by height and the flat-feet test at Heights.

Step 4: Choose the base type

• Weight and durability first? Reinforced (up to 3,000 pounds).
• Looks come first? With headboard or wood/upholstered.
• Two kids, one room? Bunk bed.
• Budget first? Standard metal models start at $85–$99 depending on size.

Step 5: The mattress (if you need one)

Same size as the base, always. The luxury mattresses in the catalog: Full $300, Queen $400, 12-inch Queen $450, King $500. Confirm the firmness of your model on the call — guide at Mattresses.

Step 6: Pickup or delivery

• Warehouse pickup (San Juan): we are a warehouse, not a walk-in store. Pickup is by appointment, Monday to Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and is reserved with a $20 deposit.
• Delivery: we deliver island-wide; delivery must be paid in full in advance.
• Accepted payments: card, Zelle, PayPal, and ATH Móvil.
• Warranty: if a part arrives defective or is missing from the box, it is replaced.
