What is neurodevelopment?

It is the process by which the brain forms and organizes itself from before birth through adulthood. Language, motor skills, social interaction, play and learning all depend on it. Milestones: at 12 months, first words and pointing; at 18 months, imitation and pretend play; at 24 months, two-word phrases. Warning signs: not responding to their name, little eye contact, language delay or loss of skills. Detecting early changes outcomes: early intervention is the most powerful tool.
