For many people, the airport is where the adventure truly begins. Long before the airplane takes off, there is a whole world of sounds, signs, people, and emotions waiting for you at the airport. If you are traveling from Puerto Rico, you will probably start your journey at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, where you can hear Spanish and English mixed in every conversation, smell strong coffee from the cafés, and see families saying emotional goodbyes near the entrance. An airport can feel exciting and stressful at the same time, especially if it is your first time traveling alone or traveling to another country. The good news is that once you understand how an airport works, everything becomes much easier and even enjoyable. The first step when you arrive at the airport is to find the check-in counter for your airline. Above the counters there are large screens that show the flight number, the destination, the departure time, and the status of each flight. Let's talk — 10 questions to discuss with your voice tutor: 1. What is your favorite and least favorite part of being at an airport? 2. Do you prefer a window seat or an aisle seat, and why? 3. What do you usually do while you wait at the gate for boarding? 4. Have you ever had a flight delayed or cancelled? What happened? 5. What items do you always carry in your carry-on luggage? 6. How early do you like to arrive at the airport before a flight? 7. What phrases in English do you think are most useful at an airport? 8. Do you get nervous during security or during takeoff? Why or why not? 9. Describe the Luis Muñoz Marín Airport or another airport you know well. 10. If you could fly anywhere tomorrow from San Juan, where would you go and why? 📖 La lectura completa llegará en una actualización (la plataforma ahora limita el texto por lección).
