Appointments that follow up by themselves

CallPages appointments are now proactive. Every booking gets a reminder at T-2h, must be confirmed by T-1h, and carries its own manage page where the customer can confirm, cancel, or propose a new time — unconfirmed appointments are visible to the owner before they become no-shows.

Customers booked and then vanished. No reminder, no confirmation, no easy way to cancel — the appointment simply approached in silence, and the owner found out it was dead when nobody arrived. The booking existed; everything that makes a booking reliable did not.

A booking is a promise with a half-life

The moment a customer books, the appointment starts decaying: people forget, plans change, life intervenes. Businesses that thrive on appointments don’t rely on memory — they run a follow-up rhythm. That rhythm is now built into CallPages: remind early enough to matter, require confirmation late enough to trust, and make changing the plan easier than ghosting it.

The manage page does the awkward work

Cancelling by phone is awkward; a private link is not. The customer opens their manage page, taps confirm — done. Or cancel, which frees the slot honestly. Or propose a new time, which lands in the owner’s hands as a proposal instead of a mystery. Every state change is written back to the same appointment the owner sees, attributed to the customer who made it.

Free first, paid when you choose it

The reminder ladder is deliberately cost-ordered. Email reminders are live and free. A prepared text the owner sends from their own phone costs nothing. Full carrier SMS — automatic texts from the platform — is engineered, tested, and waiting behind a per-page switch for businesses that want it; it stays off until the owner turns it on, because a feature that spends your money should never surprise you.

The Learning Center version of this article is in preparation and will follow with a verified owner-session walkthrough.

How it works

  1. Every appointment gets a lifecycle: a reminder goes out two hours before (email — free and live today), and the customer must confirm by one hour before.
  2. Each appointment has its own private manage page, reached from a token link only the customer holds: confirm, cancel, or propose a new time — no account, no phone tag, no modal.
  3. Unconfirmed appointments are visible as unconfirmed in the owner’s Appointments, so a silent customer is a known state, not a surprise.
  4. Channels are layered and honest about cost: email is live; tap-to-send text from the owner’s own phone is prepared at $0; carrier SMS plumbing (Telnyx) is built and tested but stays off until the business enables it.
